19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev won his first title for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
His varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and finally parting ways with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Presently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set win over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's initial championship following the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt after spring of that year.
The win also means Medvedev has won twenty-one victories at 21 different tournaments.
"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my two daughters together, so to get a championship is particularly special," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his past six title deciders, featuring in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had led commentators to question if his skill to perform at the top level was over.
However the player has made changes in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and perform aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
He fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the last five points to take the lead.
The competitors exchanged service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first professional championship, gained dominance to push for a final set.
He saved four initial break points in a competitive third set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to serve for the match.
Appropriately, the winner clinched victory with a rally at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
